SAHF member, Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), has deep commitments to providing resident services coordination support across much of its portfolio. In 2025, POAH set out to better understand not just the impact of resident services for those participating in their programming, but to try to differentiate the impact between residents engaging with resident services and those who did not. POAH observed substantially stronger outcomes for residents who participated in services compared to portfolio-wide averages. This case study highlights core elements of their program model and some of their key findings and also features POAH’s POWER Initiative -- a targeted set of employment and financial health services offered at many POAH properties.
