Our homes not only impact our health, but the health of the world around us. SAHF’s policy team works to ensure that residents of affordable home can benefit from a healthy, energy efficient home and have a voice in creating a low carbon future. We work closely with our members, partners, and policy makers to identify barriers to energy efficient and low-carbon approaches and unlock resources and align incentives for retrofits, renewable energy, and healthy resilient approaches.
Building on lessons learned from the Big Reach and over a decade of sustainability leadership, we are engaging with federal policymakers at HUD, EPA, DOE, and state Housing Finance Agencies to leverage the opportunities created by the Inflation Reduction Act to ensure that residents of affordable housing benefit from healthier, resilient, and efficient homes.
