Energy & Sustainability Senior Associate


Joy Ward supports the Energy and Sustainability team by conducting outreach and research to keep SAHF current with best practices in energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, green building practices and healthy housing. In addition, she engages with SAHF members, partners, and other stakeholders to track, identify, and lift up innovative practices supporting lower energy and water costs, carbon reductions, improved indoor environments and other owner and resident benefits.

Prior to joining SAHF, Joy served as an Energy Research Associate with the Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance (SEEA) where she supported the endeavors and initiatives of SEEA’s Research Team largely through mapmaking on programs such as ESRI’s ArcGIS Suite and Tableau Software. 

Joy holds a Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies (M.I.S.) in Urban Studies from Georgia State University and has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Science with a concentration in sustainability and a minor in Public Health from Queens University of Charlotte.
